Hydroseeding |
SeaSide Landscaping can hydroseed your new lawn, repaired area, expanded lawn, etc.
Hydroseeding (or hydraulic mulch seeding, hydro-mulching, hydraseeding) is a planting process which utilizes a slurry of fertilizer, seed, mulch with tackifier, and lime if needed. The slurry is pre-mixed in a tank and sprayed over prepared ground or oversprayed on existing thin lawn areas. Hydroseeding is an alternative to the traditional process of broadcast seeding.
Tackifier is an additive that helps the slurry stick to the soil, and added tackifier can assist in hillside hydroseeding applications to minimize erosion.
Hydroseed Mulch is a combination of paper and wood fiber designed to absorb multiple times its own weight in water. By slurrying the mulch into the soil, the mulch will hold concentrated amounts of water in the soil next to the seed to increase the availability of the water and at the same time allow for optimal soil to seed contact.
