Soil testing provides the turfgrass manager with a way to provide service to clients throughout the entire year. Results can be used later during product application, assisting the operator in balancing the proper amounts of nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium, as well as lime and sulfur. We recommend that soil tests be done annually so that changes can be monitored over a number of years.

Contact SeaSide Landscaping (603-964-1368) and we can come out and take a soil sample to send off. It takes an average of two weeks for the results to return. Typical cost for this service is $25.00. With all of our turf care programs, we do a benchmark test before beginning the program. Yearly tests can monitor results and further customize applications.

What do the soil tests analyze?:

• Soil pH: A measure of active acidity or alkalinity in a soil/water slurry. pH 7.0 is neutral, pH <7.0 is acidic and pH >7.0 is alkaline. Most turf and ornamentals prefer a pH of 6.5 - 7.5. Certain acid-loving plants prefer a pH ,6.0
• Buffer pH
• Phosporus (P)
• Potassium (K)
• Calcium (Ca)
• Magnesium (Mg)
• Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC)
• Optional tests are available for Micro & Secondary Nutrients
